CALEXICO — Members of the Calexico City Council asked for a turnout of support in the upcoming Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC) meeting over a disagreement regarding additional assistance with traffic control in their last meeting on Wednesday, February 15. Councilmembers Raul Urena and Gloria Romo in particular were critical of what they perceived to be a total lack of support from various elected officials across the Imperial Valley. 'In 2015 the City of Calexico spent $471,000 on traffic control, in 2018 $688,000, in 2019 $706,000, in 2021 $823,000, and it has stayed that way, in fact, because of all the traffic controllers that have been run over in the year 2022, 4 of them.
