EL CENTRO – With the strength of the loud stomps, buglers and yells of El Grito de Independencia backed with the pride of residents' Mexican roots, the El Centro 'El Grito' event was held on Saturday, September 23 at Bucklin Park. The City of El Centro and the Mexican Consulate in Calexico provided an event to celebrate Mexican culture's power and togetherness as a community. People from all over Imperial Valley reunited for a memorable night with the presence of Mexican and local performers, local vendors and delicious Mexican food.
